The following map and parallel coordinate plot present data on electricity production from the International Energy Agency's 2012 report, Energy Statistics of OECD Countries. Specifically, this visualization provides information for seven forms of electricity production - five of which are renewable - as well as figures for electricity generated by fossil fuels and nuclear power, for the year 2010. Although members of the OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) continue to invest in the production of more sustainable electricity from hydro, geothermal, solar, wind, and biofuel/waste sources, unsustainable sources of electricity still dominate the energy sector. The data, in gigawatt hours (GWh), is normalized by "total production of electricity" and converted to a percent. Please follow this link to view the full report.
